HVAC Systems & Solutions is a proud member of the UBC Pharmacy and the UBC Earth Systems Building (ESB)projects which both won Gold Awards at the recently concluded 25thVRCA Awards of Excellence.
“The Gold Award winners are truly leaders in the industry and have delivered great examples of world class projects around the Province,” says Fiona Famulak, Vancouver Regional Construction Association President.
The UBC Pharmacy Building was given the Sustainable Award and was accepted by Ledcor Construction Limited. The building features 246,000 square feet that contains research facilities and 39 teaching laboratories, office space and additional space to be leased to tenants. It is a LEED Gold project and the facility’s HVAC systems are over and above LEED standards. HVAC Systems’ products and solutions boasts lowest life cycle cost, lowest maintenance cost and best reliability. Read more.
Under the Mechanical Contractor over $3 Million Category, Alpha Mechanical Contracting Ltd. accepted the GOLD award for the UBC Earth Systems Building (ESB). The facilities represent an achievement in space saving, redundancy and sound levels using FANWALL Technology®. The use of a centrifugal compressor chiller/heat pump allowed substantial energy savings for the building as well. Read more

The VRCA Awards of Excellence was held last October 17, 2013 at the Vancouver Convention Center. With close to 700 members, VRCA is British Columbia’s largest and most inclusive regional construction association, representing union and non-union, general and trade contracting companies, manufacturers, suppliers and other professionals throughout the Lower Mainland from Hope to Whistler.
